MOSCOW — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is scheduled to hold talks with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al-Shaibani, in the Russian capital on Tuesday, Russian state media reported.

The meeting will take place in Moscow, according to the TASS news agency, which cited Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

No further details were immediately provided about the agenda or topics expected to be discussed during the talks.

Russia has been a key diplomatic and military ally of Syria throughout its long-running conflict.
