OAKLAND, Calif. (Next Stamina) — A 76-year-old man previously reported missing and at risk due to his age has been located safely, the Oakland Police Department said Wednesday.
Gerardo Murillo-Zamora had been the subject of a regional search after he was last seen Tuesday night.
According to the department, Murillo-Zamora disappeared around 10:45 p.m. on April 14, 2026, in the 1500 block of Fruitvale Avenue.
Officials had identified him as at risk because of his age and noted he was known to frequent the Berkeley area.
During the search, police described Murillo-Zamora as a Latino male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a black hat, a navy hoodie, a white T-shirt, and blue jeans.
Officials attributed the resolution of the case to assistance from community members and media partners.
No further details regarding the circumstances of his recovery were released.
