BERKELEY, Calif. (Next Stamina) — The Berkeley Police Department announced that 15-year-old Zahra Muwwakkil has been located and is safe.

The teenager had been the subject of an “at risk” missing person search after she was last seen in the 1400 block of Parker Street around 9:20 p.m.

Muwwakkil is described by officials as an African American female, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and braided black hair.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black leggings, and black shoes.

The department issued a statement following the resolution of the search.

“Zahra has been located and is safe,” police said. “We appreciate the community’s assistance.”

Police did not release further details regarding the circumstances of her location.
