CHICAGO, Ill. (Next Stamina) — Two men were transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition after their vehicle struck a tree in the Ashburn neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the single-car collision occurred near the intersection of Columbus and Central Park avenues.
The driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Columbus Avenue when he lost control of the car, police stated. The vehicle then veered off the roadway and struck a tree, ABC 7 reported.
CPD confirmed that only one car was involved in the incident.
The impact resulted in critical injuries for both the driver and a male passenger.
Following the crash, authorities shut down Columbus Avenue between 31st Street and Central Park Avenue to facilitate the emergency response and initial investigation.
