LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Next Stamina) — A woman died Sunday after being shot inside a residence in the Beverly Grove neighborhood.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the home on La Peer Drive at approximately 8:20 a.m. following reports of shots fired at the location.
Upon entering the residence, authorities discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound and found her in grave condition.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police confirmed that a dog was also killed during the incident, NBC Los Angeles reported.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting stemmed from a domestic incident.
Officers detained a person at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
The LAPD has not disclosed the identity of the individual or the specific relationship between the suspect and the victim.
The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is currently active, and neither the victim nor the suspect has been identified by name.
