SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Next Stamina) – Officers with the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) arrested 47 individuals and seized more than 939 grams of narcotics during a one-day enforcement operation on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, according to a press release from the department.
The action included buy-bust operations and a Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team (FRET) initiative conducted within the city’s Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC) areas.
During the buy-bust phase, SFPD officers arrested four individuals. Authorities reported the seizure of 114.8 grams of narcotics during these specific interactions, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine base, and heroin.
The FRET operation resulted in 43 additional arrests for outstanding warrants and various drug-related charges. While processing these arrests, officers seized 824.2 grams of illegal narcotics.
The SFPD stated that DMACC operations involve partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies to dismantle drug markets.
Since the DMACC launch in May 2023, the department reports seizing more than 1,249 pounds of narcotics, which includes 356 pounds of fentanyl. Total arrests in that period have reached 13,994, with 2,491 identified as drug dealers.
“Outstanding work by all members involved,” SFPD Chief Derrick Lew said. “We will continue to prioritize efforts to address the drug crisis in our city by taking wanted suspects off the streets and holding individuals who sell illegal narcotics accountable.”
The department noted that while arrests have been made, these investigations remain open and active.
The SFPD requests that anyone with information regarding these cases contact the department at 1-415-575-4444 or use the Text-A-Tip service at TIP411, beginning the message with “SFPD.”
