San Francisco Police Department officers arrested a 20-year-old male on April 10, 2026, following an arson investigation in North Beach and subsequent threats made at a business on 3rd Street, according to an official statement from the department.

The investigation began at approximately 4:12 a.m. when officers responded to a residence in North Beach. At the scene, authorities determined that an unknown male subject threw an “incendiary destructive device” at a home.

The device caused a fire to an exterior gate before the suspect fled the area on foot. Officials reported that no injuries occurred as a result of the incident. Following the initial investigation, a description of the suspect was broadcast to all department officers.

At approximately 5:07 a.m., SFPD officers responded to a business located on the 1400 block of 3rd Street. The call regarded an unknown male subject who was allegedly threatening to burn down the building.

Upon arrival, officers recognized the individual as the same suspect from the North Beach incident. According to the department, officers “immediately detained him.”

Through the course of the investigation, officers developed probable cause to place the 20-year-old male under arrest.

The San Francisco Police Department stated that charges are still pending at this time. While an arrest has been made, officials confirmed this remains an open and active investigation.
