The Volume is adding to their stable of podcasts with two big names in Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson.
The two NFL and Fox Sports personalities began collaborating on a podcast together, Calm Down with Erin and Charissa, in February 2021 with iHeartMedia. Since then they have hosted episodes regularly, touching on both their professional and personal lives as well as a number of other topics. They have even done a live show together.
But now the podcast is on the move with Thompson and Andrews joining forces with another Fox Sports personality in Colin Cowherd at The Volume. The Volume will handle ad sales, production, and distribution for the podcast, which the company hopes will further their outreach to female listeners.
In the official announcement, Andrews sated, “Calm Down has always been about real conversations with our friends and our listeners, and The Volume gets that. We’re excited to grow the show with a team that believes in what we’ve built.”
Thompson added, “I’m so grateful to be back in Colin Cowherd’s orbit. The Volume is the podcast house you want to hang out in — the dinner party you want an invite to because no matter who you’re sitting next to, you know it’s going to be a good time.”
Colin Cowherd shared his excitement for the acquisition of Calm Down, saying, “I have known Erin and Charissa for years and there aren’t enough words to describe how smart and talented they are. I could not be more excited to bring two of the most recognizable names in sports and entertainment to The Volume.”
Cowherd’s collection of podcasts and stars at The Volume continues to grow. His unique philosophy when it comes to hiring the right mix of hosts from the sports world and beyond has definitely proven dividends so far. With his latest hire of Sophie Cunningham and now Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson, The Volume is hoping to widen its audience to more female sports fans. Hopefully there’s no awkward entry interview this time around, though.
