With reports that the New England Patriots may be interested in adding a wide receiver, certain players make more sense than others.
For the Patriots, with head coach Mike Vrabel recently saying he’s interested in adding a receiver soon, a couple of guys could make sense for New England to pursue.
One of those guys is Jerry Jeudy.
Bleacher Report recently named him one of the top trade candidates entering Week 5, adding that his value is likely only a 2027 conditional fifth-round pick.
“Jeudy is being “squeezed out” of the offense by promising rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, who have quickly emerged as go-to targets. While Jeudy did play a role in Cleveland’s latest win, he’s caught just five of eight targets for 62 yards on the season.
“A 1,200-yard receiver and a Pro Bowler in 2024, Jeudy should interest receiver-needy teams, as should his 2026 base salary of $1.5 million,” Bleacher Report wrote.
What the Patriots do over the next couple of weeks will depend on what they have to give up.
For a New England team that still looks like it can compete in the playoffs if things go as planned, though it has to get there first and play better, adding another wide receiver should be a priority.
If the Patriots can bring in a guy like Jeudy and return A.J. Brown healthy, they should have one of the better offenses in the NFL if things go as well as they could.
