Los Angeles police officers shot a suspect armed with a knife inside a home following an emergency call in the Hollywood Hills.
Law enforcement units swooped on the house located in the 9300 block of Warbler Avenue around 9:35 p.m. Saturday.
Describing the initial response, officials confirmed that officers responded to “a reported assault with a deadly weapon” inside the residence.
Upon arriving, responding officers encountered the suspect armed with a knife following a stabbing incident.
Confirming police involvement, LAPD representatives stated that “at least one officer fired their weapon” during the confrontation.
Outlining the outcome, authorities announced that the suspect was “struck by the gunfire” during the encounter.
The current medical condition of the suspect has not been released by officials.
Reassuring the public regarding officer safety, police confirmed that “no officers were reported injured” in the incident.
Addressing the inquiry, officials noted that the LAPD Force Investigation Division is handling the investigation.
