Firefighters extinguish boat fire inside North Hollywood auto repair shop in Los Angeles

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Los Angeles firefighters extinguished a contents fire involving a boat undergoing repair inside a commercial building at 5705 N. Lankershim Blvd. early Sunday morning.

First arriving units reported light smoke showing from the one-story structure, measuring approximately 50 feet by 100 feet, at 5:39 a.m. according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Fire units made entry into the auto repair shop and located the fire within the building’s interior.

Crews extinguished the flames in 11 minutes. The fire was contained to a single boat.

According to department, there was no extension of the fire into any part of the structure.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

Authorities have released no further information regarding the cause of the fire.
