The Tennessee Titans followed up a 0-4 start to the 2025 NFL season by taking it a step further with a 0-5 start to the 2026 NFL season, after losing to the Houston Texans in Week 5. Their offense continued to sputter, just as it has throughout the majority of their first four games.
The result was their lowest point total of the season, which was the same three points they scored on the opening drive of the game in their 26-3 loss. There was hardly any positive to take away from their lifeless performance against another team that entered the game with a winless record.
Here’s a look at the snap counts from Tennessee’s Week 5 loss to the Texans.

-
Offensive snaps: 63
-
Defensive snaps: 66
-
Special teams snaps: 22
For the fifth straight week, the Titans lost the time-of-possession battle by at least nine minutes. With the team trailing for the majority of the game, backup running back Tyjae Spears edged out the starter, Tony Pollard, with 34 snaps to Pollard’s 30 for the game.
Spears is the Titans’ passing-down back, as evidenced by his stat line of two carries for zero yards and nine receptions for 28 yards. He also lost a fumble in the first half that led to a Texans field goal. The Titans are now one of only three teams with a 0-5 record, with a battle with the Indianapolis Colts on the horizon for Week 6.
