The NFL media world is having a field day after the New York Giants and Washington Commanders‘ tie, including the New York Post, which dubbed the teams “Dumb & Dumber” on the back pages.
The Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, edition of the Post featured a picture of Commanders head coach Dan Quinn frustrated after the game.
“Giants gifted ugly tie after Commanders one-up Skatt’s late fumble with boneheaded call to let clock run out,” the back pages read.

The Giants came back in the fourth quarter against the Commanders, erasing a 27-13 deficit. Jameis Winston led them on a nine-play, 75-yard scoring drive on the Giants’ first possession of the fourth quarter.
The defense forced a three-and-out, and Winston led the offense on another 10-play, 72-yard scoring drive, tying the game. Washington couldn’t score before the end of regulation, and the game went into overtime.
Initially, it looked like the Giants were going to gain a three-point lead. However, Dominic Zvada missed his third field goal of the day, this time from 46 yards out, to give the Commanders the ball with good field position.
Somehow, the Commanders were held in check and forced to punt. The Giants once again drove down the field. They were at the 24-yard line before handing it off to Cam Skattebo on first down. It appeared they were trying to make the field goal as easy as possible for Zvada.
He fumbled the ball, and the Commanders hit a few chunk plays as the period neared its conclusion. On 2nd & 8, Daniels was sacked for a zero-yard loss. The Commanders’ offense inexplicably failed to get up to the line and spike the ball for a game-winning 41-yard field goal, ending the game in a tie. While not a win, a tie is better than a loss. The Giants remain in first place in the NFC East.
