After finishing with an MLB-best 103 wins, the Brewers have home-field advantage against the Dodgers, who swept Milwaukee at this stage last season en route to a second consecutive World Series title.
“You’re playing for a chance to go to a World Series. You don’t need much more motivation than that regardless of who you’re playing,” Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich said.
“Obviously we respect them. We respect everything they’ve done in the game, how they go about the game. You can’t say enough great things about them, but at the same time, we’re ready to compete with them.”
Likely NL Cy Young winner Jacob Misiorowski (16-5, 1.80 ERA) takes the mound for the Brewers while trade deadline acquisition – and back-to-back Cy Young winner – Tarik Skubal (12-7, 2.73 ERA) starts for the Dodgers at American Family Field.
