There won’t be prime-time football in Eugene next Saturday, as two teams roll into Autzen Stadium reeling from devastating losses, but under very different circumstances.
The Oregon Ducks and Nebraska Cornhuskers are set for a Big Ten battle under the bright lights in Week 7. The Ducks and Cornhuskers will kick off at 8 p.m. PT with the game airing live on Fox. It is the last game to kick off in the Big Ten slate in Week 7, and both teams have some questions to answer.
Oregon needs to find a solution at quarterback if Dante Moore is forced to miss a second game while recovering from a concussion. Dylan Raiola started in his place against UCLA, but he turned the ball over three times before being benched at the end of the third quarter. Third-stringer Brock Thomas led a touchdown drive in the fourth quarter but couldn’t complete the comeback. The Ducks fell 17-15 at home on a day in which they lost the ball seven times.
On the other side, Nebraska took Indiana down to the wire in Lincoln, holding a lead throughout thanks to tremendous special teams play and quarterback Anthony Colandrea making plays with his legs. However, a pair of late defensive mistakes proved costly, as the Hoosiers stormed back for a 20-17 win.

There was a thought that Oregon and Nebraska would end up in prime-time action if both had won their games, but an ugly loss in Eugene and a narrow defeat in Lincoln have sunk some of the expectations coming into the game. Still, plenty of eyes will be on Raiola, who could face his former team for the first time. Nebraska fans travel well, and the Cornhusker fans that make the trip to Eugene could create a challenging environment for Raiola to bounce back in.
Oregon and Nebraska haven’t faced each other since playing a home-and-home series in 2016 and 2017, the latter of which took place in Eugene. Led by Justin Herbert, the Ducks won the game, 42-35, despite being shut out in the second half.
The Ducks will need to win out to have any shot at reaching the College Football Playoff, and that road begins with a tough test against a Nebraska squad that has already exceeded some expectations. Autzen Stadium will also try to get some of its intensity back with a night game on deck.
