With Alamo Heights looking to stay in the hunt for a District 13-5A-II title and facing a showdown with another Class 5A power, Liberty Hill, quarterback Easton Stone answered the call.
The senior led the Mules’ potent offense to perfection in a 63-31 victory over the Panthers, and now he has been voted Express-News Athlete of the Week.
Stone completed 15 of 21 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns against Liberty Hill, continuing a strong senior campaign. The win moved Alamo Heights (6-1, 2-1) into a tie for second with Liberty Hill and Liberty Hill Legacy Ranch, just one loss behind undefeated Boerne. The Mules lost a heartbreaker to the Greyhounds, 38-31, in the district opener.
Stone beat out four fellow finalists in the Athlete of the Week poll.
