The New York Jets are entering their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns with a 1-3 record. The 3-1 Browns have been surprisingly good this season, but the Jets can beat them.

However, the Jets are far from being at full strength. While the defense is in good shape, the offense is not. Geno Smith, Garrett Wilson, and Kenyon Sadiq are good to go. But two key playmakers are not.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports, running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell have both been ruled out for this Week 5 matchup against the Browns. That’s two key players down for the count in a big Week 5 matchup.

Jets get bad news on Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell for Week 5 vs. Browns

“Jets have ruled out RB Breece Hall (quad) and WR Adonai Mitchell (finger) for Sunday’s game vs. the Browns,” Schefter reports.

This update for the Jets offense is not a huge surprise. The indications all week were that they would be without both Mitchell and Hall, but it’s now been confirmed.

Both players shouldn’t miss much more time, but their absences have been a huge blow to the offense. Braelon Allen has been fine taking over for Hall, but the wide receiver room without Mitchell is very shallow.

Compounded by the fact that rookie first-round receiver Omar Cooper Jr. is on injured reserve, the Jets are down three very important offensive playmakers this week against the Browns.

This Browns team isn’t one to fear, especially without Myles Garrett. But they’re not a horrible defense and could become a problem for Smith and the Jets’ offense this week with Hall and Mitchell on the sideline once again.

Week 5 is the second home game of the year for the Jets, and the offense will be down two of its top contributors with Mitchell and Hall both now ruled out.

With both key playmakers out for the Jets for Week 5, their next chance to return to action is in Week 6 when the Jets face off against the New England Patriots.
