A multi-day search in upstate New York ended in tragedy when a newlywed man was found dead in a wooded area.
Dominick Bianchi, 35, vanished from his East Greenbush home Sept. 8, leaving behind his car, wallet, and cellphone.
Relatives grew concerned because he had type 1 diabetes and lacked insulin.
His wife, Julianna Zyra, married four months ago, noted he faced mental health struggles.
Police requested camera footage, leading to search assistance from volunteers and boys on bicycles.
Search efforts ended Sunday when teams located Bianchi, though authorities disclosed no cause of death.
Medical examiner officials noted cause of death details would remain undisclosed.
In a statement to News 10, Larry Zyra reflected on the shift from joy to sadness.
“Every family has its share of great joy and profound sadness,” Zyra said.
“Four months ago, we experienced the joy of welcoming Dom into our family, and now we feel the intense pain of his loss,” he added.
Zyra recognized neighbors who provided food, coffee, messages, and search aid.
Reflecting on Bianchi’s life, his father-in-law highlighted his cherished roles.
“Dom was a husband, a son, a brother, a nephew, and a friend,” Zyra stated.
“He will be so missed by so many people,” he added.
“But even in this darkness, there is light,” Zyra continued.
Addressing individuals experiencing struggles, Zyra urged anyone in distress to seek support.
“Please know that there is help available, and that you are never alone,” Zyra said.
“There is always a reason to go on,” he added.
“There is always a reason to get up tomorrow morning,” Zyra stated.
“Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of those reasons,” he explained.
“Please know that you matter,” Zyra concluded.
