SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Next Stamina) — The San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Unit conducted a DUI checkpoint operation on Friday, April 3, 2026, resulting in one DUI arrest and 12 arrests for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
According to a statement from authorities, the operation took place between the hours of 7:00 P.M. and 3:00 A.M.
Officers contacted more than 600 vehicles during the enforcement window.
In addition to the 13 total arrests, police issued 27 citations and towed three vehicles.
The checkpoint was scheduled after the San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Unit announced the operation on April 1.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data indicates 1,355 people were killed in alcohol-impaired traffic crashes in California in 2023.
