LONDON − The last time the Eagles played the Jaguars, Saquon Barkley had his iconic moment by doing his famous backwards hurdle over a Jaguars cornerback.

That was nearly two years ago as the Eagles were in the midst of a Super Bowl season and Barkley was on his way to rushing for 2,005 yards, becoming only the ninth player in NFL history to accomplish that feat.

Well, Barkley won’t get a chance to duplicate that. He didn’t make the journey to London because he’s back in Philadelphia nursing a hamstring injury. And both teams are on a different plane from that Nov. 3, 2024 game in Philly, won by the Eagles 28-23.

The Jaguars were in the midst of a 4-13 season under former Eagles coach Doug Pederson who was fired after that season and replaced by Liam Cohen. Cohen led the Jags to a 13-4 record last season, and Jacksonville is 3-1 heading into this game.

The Eagles, meanwhile, are going through a tumultuous stretch in which key players in Barkley and DeVonta Smith are sitting out with injuries. This came during a week in which right tackle Lane Johnson abruptly retired and center/guard Cam Jurgens was traded.
