INDIANAPOLIS — Veteran Colts middle linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither was fined $11,941 for taunting in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Commanders in London, according to the NFL’s available list of fines.

Davis-Gaither, who can appeal his fine to the NFL, broke up a pass to Commanders running back Austin Ekeler, got up and signaled incomplete, then put both his thumbs down in the direction of Ekeler on what Davis-Gaither thought was a fourth-down stop.

Except that it wasn’t. Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner was flagged for holding on the play. Indianapolis got the stop on the next set of downs.

No flag was thrown on Davis-Gaither during the game.

Washington nickel Amik Robertson was also fined $11,941 for hitting Colts tight end Tyler Warren in the face mask in the second quarter, a penalty that helped extend an Indianapolis scoring drive. Warren was blocking Robertson to the end of the whistle, Robertson took exception and hit the Colts tight end in the face mask.

Robertson was flagged for unnecessary roughness on what should have been a third-down stop by the Commanders, and three plays later Jonathan Taylor scored a 5-yard touchdown to give Indianapolis the lead.
