Tennessee makes a change at quarterback this week as sophomore George MacIntyre makes his first start in place of freshman Faizon Brandon after the Vols beat visiting Auburn 24-14 last week. DeSean Bishop finished with 220 yards and ran for three second-half touchdowns while MacIntyre finished 8-of-10 for 86 yards after replacing Brandon.
Arkansas’ SEC woes continued last week in a 34-7 loss at Texas A&M. KJ Jackson’s 26-yard touchdown pass to Chris Marshall late in the first quarter got the Razorbacks to within 14-7 but the offense, which gained only 214 yards, never scored again. Jackson finished 13-of-25 for 111 yards and a touchdown with an interception while Marshall caught seven balls for 76 yards and a score.
The Vols snapped a four-game losing streak to the Razorbacks with a 34-31 win at home last year and lead the all-time series 14-7. But Tennessee has lost four straight at Arkansas since a 13-3 win in September 2001.
Bishop leads Tennessee with 540 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground while Mike Matthews enters the game with 18 receptions, 318 yards and three scores. Xavier Gilliam and Mariyon Dye pace the defense with four sacks apiece. Marshall comes in with 35 receptions, 549 yards and two TDs for Arkansas, with Jackson throwing for 1,038 yards and six touchdowns with four picks.
