STILLWATER — Mike Gundy wore an orange tie today on purpose.
“Sporting my orange, baby,” Gundy said Saturday during a TV appearance. “I got it on. Excited about Oklahoma State right now and what they’re doing.”
The former OSU football coach, fired last season, is working the desk of TNT’s college football show.
He was asked to reflect on his time at OSU.
“Well, we’ve been very fortunate to be there a long time,” Gundy said. “I came there in 1986 as a player and Oklahoma State was good enough to give me a scholarship to play football and finish there with a degree and nice enough to make me a coach there and eventually the head coach.
“So, fondest memories of my life, just great people, great organization. Stillwater, Oklahoma is a beautiful place and memories of a lifetime. So, very, very thankful for Oklahoma State and excited about what they’re doing now.”
