With the New York Giants taking on the Washington Commanders in a Week 5 matchup on Sunday, there are some injuries that the team is hoping to clear up by the time kickoff happens. As the Giants await any injury updates, running back Cam Skattebo gives insight into his shoulder issue.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Skattebo was a limited participant in practice with the shoulder injury, as he was wearing a red no-contact injury on Wednesday. However, with the way Skattebo is talking, it seems likely he’s going to play against the Commanders, telling offensive coordinator Matt Nagy to “just give me the ball.”
Yeah, just I already told Coach Nags [Nagy]. Just give me the ball, we’ll be fine. I mean, we have a lot of playmakers on the offense, man. When you get a lot of guys together that really love the game, really want the ball, and can do special things with it, you have guys pulling strings from Coach,” Skattebo said, via SNY Giants.

“So when time calls, the ball will get to the right person, and I believe that you know Jameis has been doing a better job of spreading it out and getting into who wants the ball and who needs the ball at that time,” Skattebo continued. “And it’s like I said, over time we just need to get more comfortable in the system and continue to work our little flaws out, and I think we’ll be just fine settling [in].”

Giants’ Cam Skattebo dealing with a “little muscle tightness”
Regarding the injury, Skattebo would describe it as a “little muscle tightness” in the shoulder, though saying there is “nothing to worry about.”
“My shoulder’s okay. You know, I literally had a little bit of muscle tightness in my back over the last couple days; I’ve worked it out, and I feel great,” Skattebo said.

So far this season, Skattebo has recorded 235 yards with a touchdown. It remains to be seen if Skattebo’s usage will be impacted due to the shoulder injury on Sunday and how it will affect him moving forward.
