As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Endrick would prefer a move to Milan in January should he leave Real Madrid.
With only four minutes of action under his belt, the 20-year-old must be wondering why José Mourinho blocked his exit at the last moment back in the summer. Now, he could look to emulate what he achieved last season at Lyon.
Milan will face competition from the likes of Roma and Aston Villa, who have also emerged as admirers of Endrick. That said, Gerry Cardinale’s close relationship with Endrick’s agency, Roc Nation, gives them the edge going into January.
If a loan move were to materialise, Milan would not rule out a permanent transfer. Endrick’s €2.5m-per-year wages won’t be an issue, though it would take some convincing for Real Madrid to part ways with the player they paid €47.5 million for two summers ago.
Endrick needs to move
Milan clearly have an edge in pursuit for Endrick, but regardless of whether he leaves Spain for good or a while, Endrick needs to be on the move.
Remaining on the bench is not going to help. Real Madrid is a club where finished articles play their best football. José Mourinho is furthermore a manager who mostly works with players who can deliver in the here and now, and his predicament at Real Madrid demands the same from him.
Now more than ever, the Bernebéu is anything but a place for budding talent to try their luck and develop. Endrick needs to take a leaf off the books of Franco Mastantuono and Nico Paz and carry out his development elsewhere.
