Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is off to a rocky start with the Dallas Cowboys, as the cornerback was just ruled out hours before Thursday Night Football in Week 5.

According to ESPN’s Jane Slater, the Cowboys reported that Porter was sent home when he arrived at the facility due to an illness. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo also reported that Porter was indeed very sick and vomiting.

“I’m told Porter has been vomiting with a bad virus,” Garafolo wrote via X. “Just not in a condition to play tonight for the Cowboys, as [Slater] indicated.”

Although reports seem to back up Porter’s injury designation, it’s hard to take anything seriously after the back fiasco in which Porter sat out three games and was ruled out for a fourth before being traded to Dallas, ultimately playing in Week 4 for the Cowboys.
