Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has spoken about the Negreira Case after UEFA confirmed receiving a dossier of information from Los Blancos.

The Portuguese has given a new interview where he has discussed his “bad luck” with referees and his experience of being at Madrid during the Negreira years.

“I don’t think the problem is me,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.

“The problem is the bad luck I have when I arrive at a particular club. I experienced Negreira’s important period here at Real Madrid. Nobody knew it, but we lived through it. It happened. It happened.

“I left afterwards, now everyone knows. But I was thinking about something: in Turkey, after a big Turkish scandal, this kind of situation happened to me often.”

The Negreira Case has been back in the headlines recently after Madrid’s latest move, with Los Blancos believed to be ‘convinced’ action will be taken against Barca.

The events have led La Liga president Javier Tebas to respond and to criticize Madrid.

Tebas said the Negreira case is “extremely serious” and needs investigating but blasted Madrid for continuing with a “narrative that Negreira continues to influence Spanish refereeing today.”
