The Kentucky football team fell behind 17-0 on Saturday against South Carolina. They looked out of sync, and it appeared as if the Gamecocks would run away with it. By game’s end, though, Wildcats fans took to social media to celebrate one of the most exciting finishes of the season.
Kentucky’s offense struggled early on. The offensive line wasn’t able to give Kenny Minchey time to throw, and the running game couldn’t get enough yards to keep drives going. It threatened to get ugly.
The defense keyed the comeback. They forced a fumble that set up a score to make it 17-0, and forced another turnover later on. However, when it counted, Kenny Minchey became a hero, finding Henry Boyer for the overtime touchdown, then Willie Rodriguez for the game-winning two-point conversion.
It was one of the year’s most exciting finishes, and Kentucky fans were thrilled. They took to social media after the game was over to discuss the day’s events. Here are the best reactions from X after the game.

Props to Will Stein, one of the few head coaches who realizes that you should ALWAYS go for 2 if you’re down a touchdown in the first overtime and score because of the OT rules now. It paid off for Kentucky and they get a win that will crush South Carolina.

Your University of Kentucky Wildcats tackle football team erased a 17-0 deficit to defeat the Gamecocks of South Carolina. The Wildcats move to 4-1 on the season. 2-1 in the SEC. They continue to control their college football playoff and national championship destiny.
