The Los Angeles Rams have officially bolstered their special teams unit by signing rookie kicker Joshua Karty to the active 53-man roster.
This roster move comes after the organization evaluated the performance of their specialists throughout the entirety of the preseason training camp period.
Karty, who was selected by the team during the 2024 NFL Draft, has been identified by the franchise as the long-term solution for the position.
As noted in recent reports, the Rams sign K Joshua Karty to 53-man roster to solidify their kicking game heading into the regular season schedule.
The decision to place the former Stanford standout on the main roster indicates the coaching staff’s confidence in his ability to convert field goals and handle kickoff duties effectively.
Throughout his collegiate career, Karty demonstrated remarkable accuracy and leg strength, which made him a highly touted prospect entering the professional ranks.
The Rams had been searching for consistency at the kicker position for several months, and the front office believes this addition will provide the stability required to compete in a highly contested division.
By securing his spot on the 53-man roster, the team has effectively moved past the experimental phase of their special teams roster construction.
Karty is expected to make his regular-season debut during the team’s upcoming opener, where he will be tasked with providing reliable scoring opportunities for the offense.
The organization has not announced any further adjustments to the special teams group at this time, suggesting that Karty will be the primary kicker moving forward.
Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how the rookie handles the pressure of the NFL environment as the season begins in earnest.
The team continues to focus on refining their overall roster depth while preparing for the physical challenges of the upcoming campaign.
With this roster move finalized, the Rams are now turning their full attention to game-planning for their first opponent.
