Broncos Rally Past Rams 30-26 with Second-Half Comeback at Mile High

The Denver Broncos staged a dramatic second-half comeback to defeat the Los Angeles Rams 30-26 at Empower Field at Mile High.

Los Angeles dominated the opening half of the matchup. The Rams surged out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. They extended their advantage in the second quarter by adding 9 points while shutting out Denver’s offense. By halftime, the Rams held a commanding 16-0 lead over the home team.

The momentum flipped entirely following the intermission. Denver erupted for 16 unanswered points in the third quarter to erase the deficit and tie the game at 16-16. The Broncos sustained their offensive rhythm in the final quarter, scoring 14 points. Although the Rams managed 10 fourth-quarter points, Denver held on to complete the victory.

Despite suffering the loss, the Rams outgained the Broncos significantly in total yardage. Los Angeles generated 506 total yards of offense compared to 264 total yards for Denver. The Rams achieved 390 passing yards and added 116 rushing yards on the ground. In contrast, Denver recorded 186 passing yards and 78 rushing yards.

The Rams also led in several operational categories throughout the game. Los Angeles picked up 26 first downs while Denver registered 20 first downs. On third down efficiency, the Rams converted 8 of 17 opportunities, whereas the Broncos converted 7 of 13 attempts. Los Angeles maintained control of the football for 34 minutes and 29 seconds of time of possession, compared to 25 minutes and 31 seconds for Denver.

However, red zone execution and discipline proved crucial in determining the outcome. Denver capitalized on every scoring opportunity inside the 20-yard line, finishing with a perfect 3-for-3 red zone efficiency. Conversely, Los Angeles struggled in the scoring area, converting just 1 of 4 red zone appearances. Penalties also hampered the Rams, as they were flagged 13 times for 91 penalty yards. Denver remained much more disciplined, committing only 5 penalties for 38 yards. The Rams also committed 2 turnovers during the game, while the Broncos turned the ball over just once.
