Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis and television producer Shane Farley have built an enduring romantic partnership over the past decade.
The pair first met in 2013 when producers hired Farley to develop a joint talk show featuring De Laurentiis and chef Bobby Flay.
While that televised project never aired, their initial professional meeting sparked a lasting friendship.
Reflecting on his early impressions of the celebrated Food Network star, Farley praised her professional charisma.
“I just thought she was really smart and funny and I thought, ‘God, she would be a great host for a show,’” Farley said.
Following her 2014 divorce from Todd Thompson, the author took time away from romance to focus on her personal stability.
Recalling her transition to single life after two decades with her former husband, De Laurentiis shared her perspective.
“After I divorced, I spent about a year and a half alone, not dating, just figuring things out,” she said.
“Once I got settled, Shane and I reconnected, and I felt like a kid again,” she added.
The couple officially began dating in 2015 after Farley moved to Los Angeles to produce daytime television.
Describing how their friendship evolved into romance, Farley recalled their casual encounters.
“We would bump into each other, we would grab a drink,” Farley recalled.
“Giada is one of the most positive people I have ever met,” he added.
Farley, a four-time Emmy winner, also developed a close and supportive bond with her daughter Jade.
Highlighting his relationship with Jade, Farley expressed gratitude for joining her family unit.
“I do not have children and to be able to have such a well-adjusted, fun kid around has been really nice,” Farley said.
Over ten years together, their relationship has included producing home broadcasts during pandemic quarantines, travel to Italy, and celebrating major family milestones.
