In case you’re keeping score at home, yes, Scarsdale is only playing six regular-season games.
The Raiders typically schedule seven regular-season contests, but the last-minute decision to field one team in Yonkers left them with an unwanted open date. Attempts were made to find an opponent, but the options are limited in late August because the schedules have already been finalized so not surprisingly, there were no takers.
Scarsdale is a Class AA contenter, which likely adds to the reluctance of teams inside and outside the section to fill the void.
Also, we have another forfeit. Greeley informed Fox Lane it’s down to 16 players and forfeited this week’s game. The Foxes have been playing with 21 after calling up three JV reinforcements to make sure they aren’t caught short. Both teams are part of the Class A ability-based league. They met earlier this season and the undefeated Foxes won 34-0.
