The approaching tempest threatens a coastline that has already endured destructive storms in recent weeks, leaving communities particularly vulnerable to renewed flooding. Meanwhile, farther northwest offshore, Tropical Storm Simon continues to weaken after impacting coastal areas with heavy precipitation earlier in the week.
