Houston Texans running back David Montgomery and safety Jalen Pitre will not play in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
The Texans are traveling to England without the two players, who were injured in last week’s 26-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
Houston coach DeMeco Ryans had previously said both players were considered week-to-week. Neither practiced Wednesday or Thursday.
Wide receiver Tank Dell will also not play in Sunday’s game. Dell hasn’t played a regular season game since December 2024 due to a severe knee injury but returned to practice last week.

Rookie Kamari Ramsey filled in after Pitre left the game versus the Titans in the nickel role after previously being used as the extra defensive back in dime packages against the Cowboys.
“He was able to step in for Jalen, able to go into that nickel spot for us,” Ryans said. “He’s played safety for us as well. Versatile player, smart young man. He’s able to learn two positions very quickly. He stepped in there. He did a good job for us.”
Montgomery had been splitting reps with Woody Marks at about a 55/45 clip during the first month of the season before going down with his groin injury. Marks will step into the unquestioned lead back role without Montgomery.
Jawhar Jordan could be elevated from the practice squad to help fill out the short-handed running back room. Running back Dare Ogunbowale is also on the main roster but his main role is on special teams.
“He doesn’t say a whole lot,” offensive coordinator Nick Caley said of Jordan. “He’s businesslike. Just a great dude that loves football and has a spark to him. I’m excited for opportunities whenever he gets those opportunities and I know he’ll be looking forward to it as well.”
