Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans has confirmed that Marvin Harrison Jr. will play against Jacksonville in Week 6, according to Aaron Wilson (h/t Aaron Wilson).
“Marvin will play,” Ryans said.
However, the former Arizona Cardinals receiver should not be expected to play every snap as he settles into Houston’s offensive system. Ryans explained that the coaching staff will focus on what Harrison can comfortably learn and execute.
“What is he able to pick up on? We’ll make sure it’s as easy as possible for him. Don’t expect him to play all 60 snaps. Make sure he has what he needs and he’s confident in what we need him to do,” Ryans said, per Wilson.
Harrison reunites with Stroud, his former Ohio State teammate, after Houston acquired him from Arizona. The Texans will ease him into the offense rather than force an immediate, full workload.
