MIAMI, Oct. 13 (UPI) — Kirk Cousins and Woody Marks are among my fantasy football waiver wire priorities for Week 6 of the NFL season.
Aaron Rodgers, Jacoby Brissett, Xavier Worthy, Pat Freiermuth and the New England Patriots defense/special teams are among my other targets.
My waiver wire priorities each carry an ownership percentage of 60% or less.
Michael Penix Jr., CeeDee Lamb, David Montgomery, Deebo Samuel, TreVeyon Henderson, Will Shipley, KC Concepcion, T.J. Hockenson, Kenyon Sadiq were among the players injured in Week 5. Continue to monitor those injuries before finalizing your starting lineup.

Players from the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, who are on bye in Week 6, should be benched or even dropped in some cases.

QUARTERBACK
Kirk Cousins is my top quarterback to target off the Week 6 waiver wire. The Las Vegas Raiders passer was just a fringe Top-20 play in Week 5, when he threw for 243 yards and a score, but was a solid QB1 play through the first four weeks of this season.
I expect Cousins, who threw at least two touchdown passes in each of his first four games, to provide similar value in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills allowed the second-most passing yards per game to quarterbacks through five weeks. They also allowed the fourth-most passing scores per game.
Look for Cousins to finish inside the Top 10. He is a fantastic bye week fill-in, but also has value down the road if your normal starter has tough matchups.
Aaron Rodgers and Jacoby Brissett, both Top 11 plays in Week 5, are among my other quarterback targets in Week 6.
RUNNING BACK
Woody Marks is easily the top running back target in Week 6. He is set to take over as the Houston Texans’ lead ball carrier in the wake of starter David Montgomery’s Week 5 groin injury.
Marks will immediately get a matchup with the stingy Jacksonville Jaguars, who allowed a league-low 42 rushing yards per game to running backs through five weeks. Marks’ likely workload puts him on the streaming radar, but the rough matchup hinders his ceiling. He can be plugged in as a low-end RB2 or flex play in deeper leagues.
He also should have value in Week 7, when the Texans face a New York Giants defense that allowed more than 100 rushing yards per game to running backs so far in 2026.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine, who ate into starter Chase Brown’s workload in Week 5, is another player to target. Perine’s workload increased in each of the last three weeks. Look for that trend to continue after the Bengals’ Week 6 bye. Perine should retain flex value in good matchups going forward. He could climb into RB1 territory if Brown sustains an injury.
Dameon Pierce also should be owned in all leagues. The Philadelphia Eagles running back could be in for a start in Week 6 if starter Saquon Barkley misses a second consecutive game. He is still worth owning even if he doesn’t start in Week 6 because of potential injury absences for Barkley going forward.
WIDE RECEIVER
Xavier Worthy could have been dropped in Week 5 due to the Kansas City Chiefs’ bye. He should be picked up and plugged in as a WR3 or flex play in good matchups. The Chiefs, who lost wide receiver Tyquan Thornton to a dislocated ankle, should give more targets to Worthy in Week 6. Wide receiver Rashee Rice also is nursing a hamstring injury, which could further increase Worthy’s target share.
Worthy totaled just one score through his first four games this season, but logged a season-high 70 yards in Week 4. Look for at least eight targets here for Worthy, who drew an average of 5.5 looks per game so far in 2026.
TIGHT END
Pittsburgh Steelers veteran Pat Freiermuth is my top tight end target in Week 6. He was TE10, on a points per game basis, through his first five games of 2026. Freiermuth was the second-highest scoring tight end in Week 5, when he found the end zone twice in a win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Freiermuth’s four receiving scores are tied for the most among tight ends. He found the end zone for three of those scores over his last two games.
Freiermuth drew a season-high seven targets in Week 5. He earned at least five looks in four of five appearances this season. I expect continued involvement for Freiermuth in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. who allowed the seventh-most targets and ninth-most receiving yards per game to tight ends through five weeks.
