Just hours after wrestling Andrade El Idolo at AEW All Out 2026, former Trios Champion PAC passed away while traveling in his car. PAC was one of the most well-loved and respected wrestlers in the industry, and his untimely death left a void in the pro-wrestling world.
One of PAC’s former kayfabe rivals, Kevin Knight, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with ClutchPoints, where he opened up about the backstage atmosphere following the shocking death.
“We were all in shock. You know, we just saw him the night before wrestle a great match with Andrade, and it was all a shock to us. And he was one of those guys that got along with everybody, and everybody respected him. And everybody has, like, a positive story, a positive vibe about him.

“I was literally just in Mexico a couple of weeks ago with him, and it was just heartbreaking. It was heartbreaking for us all, so for us to get that message, it was a lot to process in a certain short amount of time. And we’re all still going through it as an industry as a whole.
“We just wanna keep putting on the best show possible for him because, like, he was such an amazing in-ring competitor, such an amazing guy overall. Like, we just had to keep putting on for him. And he was one of the guys that instilled a lot of confidence in me when I first got there,” Knight shared.
He further opened up about how they had once worked together in the 2025 Continental Classic and felt so much confidence after the bout. “And man, after that match, I felt like I knew what I was doing in a way. You know what I mean? And he just instilled so much confidence, and it was like, I wish we got to do it over and over and over again ’cause he’s just one of those guys that just makes you better. But we are doing it for Pac. You know, a guy that gave a s**t, as Jon Moxley said, he was one of the most respected and well-loved guys.”
One of the most humble wrestlers in the industry, Knight claimed that he would always remember PAC for his humility. “Just how humble he was. Extremely humble guy; I’m not sure if he knew how great he actually was.
“Like, he was such a perfectionist, and I kinda relate to him in that way, where he’s just always thinking that something can be better or could be executed better or just done differently, you know? He was always so hard on himself. But it made him so great. So, just remember him for just being such a humble person and just a light in the locker room,” Knight finished.
What was it backstage during AEW Dynamite’s PAC tribute episode?
In the same exclusive interview with ClutchPoints, Knight shared a peek into how hard it was backstage during PAC’s tribute episode. However, they all pushed through for Benjamin Satterley, aka PAC.
“It was tough. Everybody was going through it that night because we’ve all had, you know…He’s been in the business a long time, so he’s known a lot of these guys, you know, 20-plus years, 15-plus years, 10-plus years.
“And I’ve been watching him since I was in high school, 10 years ago. So it was like, everybody had a positive outlook on the guy, and just the fact that it happened the day after a pay-per-view was shocking to us all. It was a lot of emotions that night, but we all pushed through to, you know, make it happen for Benny [Benjamin Satterley, aka, PAC],” Knight finished.
However, while PAC’s shocking news came a few hours after AEW All Out, fans across the globe also witnessed a scary incident during the PLE, when Knight clashed with Sting’s son Steven Borden during their coast-to-coast exchange. The two wrestlers collided mid-air, and while Knight escaped it scratch-free, Borden fell hard on the mat and bounced his head off it.
AEW’s Kevin Knight opens up about Steven Borden’s All Out injury
Knight noted that immediately after the spot, he began checking on Borden and made sure that he was fine. “As a human, it was just checking on him, making sure he’s okay. Obviously, you never want things like that to happen in your own match, especially when you’re involved with it.
“So it was just making sure that he’s okay. You know, I spent the night at the hospital with him. He was perfectly fine. It was just a, a scary bump, a scary risk. But yeah, it was not an ideal situation,” Knight added. “But we’re gonna bounce back from it, and you know I’m excited to see what Steve has to offer more, you know, come into the future. Pretty sure he’s gonna bounce back.”
When asked if the spot was rehearsed before the match, Knight claimed that they talked it through, but in pro-wrestling there’s always a risk. “ We talked about it and everything. We walked it through. But, just like I said, just with anything, stepping through the ropes, walking on the stairs, hitting the ropes, taking any kind of bump, you’re risking your life anytime you’re doing any of those things. So it was just a freak accident. And Steve is a trooper, so I’m sure he’ll come back better than ever,” he finished.
Knight followed it up and claimed that he spent the night in Borden’s hospital room and spoke with him throughout. “I was in the hospital room with him all night,” he said. Knight added that they were having conversations about how they could piggyback off that moment and make a situation out of it.
“And we were having conversations, talking, you know, just how we’re gonna, you know, piggyback off of this and how we can make a situation out of this. How can we, you know, see the opportunity in this tragedy type of thing? So it was obvious in this business: things happen, you know, and it sucks that it happened, but you just have to pivot and learn from them and grow.”
AEW wrestler Kevin Knight says wrestlers perform high-risk moves knowing the consequences
Pro-wrestlers often perform several high-risk moves that often cause them serious physical injuries and increase the risk of shortening their careers. However, Knight believes wrestlers do that while being well aware of the possible outcomes.
“I mean, we as professional wrestlers know what we’re signing up for when we do these things,” he said. “Taking a basic bump hurts. Everything that we do, you know, hurts, so we all know the risk that we’re taking every time we step in the ring. So anybody that’s willing to do that knows the risks versus reward going into it, and hopefully they take care of their bodies outside of wrestling so that it doesn’t impact them too much,” he concluded.
Knight also added that he gets his massages, does stretching, does mobility work, as well as yoga. He hopes that the other wrestlers are doing it for their betterment. “But we all know the risk that comes with it. So yeah, it’s something that we signed up for, and we wouldn’t do it unless we agreed to do it, you know?”
A former AEW TNT and Trios Champion, Knight is now set to team up with Kyle Fletcher and face The Young Bucks at AEW WrestleDream for the Tag Team Championship.
We at ClutchPoints also have a few more exclusive interview snippets with Knight coming out, where he talks about Tony Khan, AEW’s underrated wrestlers, the NJPW-AEW dynamic, and more.
