MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (Next Stamina) — The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has charged 19-year-old Jayden Knight with criminal homicide following the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Mya Parker inside a residence on Singer Avenue. First responders discovered Parker with a gunshot wound to the head at approximately 8:04 p.m. on March 20, 2026.

Police said the County 9-1-1 received notification of the incident occurring in the 20 block of Singer Avenue. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located the victim and transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. CBS reported that the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has since identified the victim as Mya Parker.

Following the initial response, detectives stated they “identified everyone involved in the shooting” and coordinated with the District Attorney’s office to determine appropriate charges. Knight was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

The investigation remains active as detectives process evidence from the scene. Police have requested that anyone with information regarding the shooting contact the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.

Knight is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary arraignment on the homicide charge.
