WWE has done everything in its power to make the Crown Jewel event important to fans. It’s gone from being a mid-level premium live event to one that sits on the calendar with the biggest promotional bragging rights attached.
As it is, it is now a mixture between the old Bragging Rights events and Night of Champions. The event is usually in Saudi Arabia — which it is again this year, unless something changes — and we will see the champion-vs-champion format return. What does that mean? I’ll break it down for you. This year’s show is set for Nov. 7 in Riyadh. A strike on the city’s King Khalid International Airport on Oct. 10 left 13 people dead, according to Saudi authorities. WWE has announced no change to Crown Jewel but has said it has contingency plans.
WWE introduced the Crown Jewel Championship at Crown Jewel 2024 in Riyadh. Each year, the top men’s champions from Raw and SmackDown meet, the top women’s champions do the same, and the winners are crowned Crown Jewel Champions.
The brand titles are not on the line. Cody Rhodes beat World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for the first men’s Crown Jewel title in 2024, and both men left with the championships they brought in. Liv Morgan beat Nia Jax for the first women’s title that night.
Seth Rollins took the men’s title from Rhodes at Crown Jewel 2025 in Perth, Australia, and Stephanie Vaquer beat Tiffany Stratton for the women’s title.

Barring a cash-in from Penta or Tiffany Stratton, the Crown Jewel matchups will see Roman Reigns taking on Sami Zayn and Chelsea Green battling Liv Morgan. Call me crazy, but I don’t think that’s those are the matches WWE will allow to lead Crown Jewel. While Green is over in a major way, it seems like WWE might feel more comfortable with Stratton-Morgan, though that would probably mean we have two heel women in the match.

On the men’s side, Reigns figures to be pulled into the Survivor Series match with his cousins against the 946. But that last straw could come at Crown Jewel if Royce Keys and Co. cost Reigns the Crown Jewel belt. The question is, will he be facing Sami Zayn or Penta? I’m betting on Penta. The luchador is over in a major way and allowing him to cash in the MITB and beat Roman in Riyadh would cap a huge year.
It would also send a message to other free agents in the industry. There is a path for you in WWE to be booked well.
