The Alabama Crimson Tide is coming off a loss to No. 1 Georgia. While the loss stings for Alabama, the bigger issue may be a star player getting injured.
Wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams couldn’t finish the game. He suffered leg and head injuries in the loss to Georgia.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke with the media on Monday. He said Coleman-Williams is doubtful for this week’s game against No. 14 Tennessee. DeBoer added that the wideout will be considered “week-to-week” after the Tennessee game.
Coleman-Williams took a hard hit going up for a reception against the Bulldogs. He stumbled getting to his feet, and looked like he had his bell rung. Teammates held up the wide receiver before trainers escorted him off the field. He did not return.

If Coleman-Williams doesn’t play, Alabama would turn to Lotzeir Brooks, Rico Scott, and Derek Meadows as its top wide receivers.
From the experts at Yahoo Sports
Coleman-Williams is one of college football’s most prolific wide receivers. He is in his third year at Alabama and, over two seasons, has 1,554 yards and 12 touchdowns.
This year, the wide receiver has played in six games. He already has 415 yards and four touchdowns on 23 receptions, all tied for the team lead.
If Coleman-Williams misses the game, Brooks and Scott should be able to pick up the slack. While they don’t have elite playmaking ability, they have had solid results this year, with Brooks having the Tide’s second-most receiving yards (389) and Scott with the second-most touchdowns (3).
The real drop-off from Coleman-Williams’ absence would come from Meadows. He may be able to step into a bigger role, but so far he has 62 yards and no touchdowns on four receptions.
Depending on how long Coleman-Williams is sidelined, he could miss this week’s game against Tennessee and then next week’s game against Texas A&M. Alabama then has an off week before a huge clash against LSU on November 7.
