ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter provided an update on Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey‘s status ahead of his matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Schefter said that the Georgia product is expected to suit up but probably won’t play meaningful snaps.

The Chargers wideout has been battling a foot injury and hasn’t really been healthy all year.

He hasn’t found the end zone in three games but does have 12 receptions for 183 yards. Los Angeles needs all the help they can get right now. They haven’t won a game this year and now have to face a ferocious Broncos defense.

McConkey is expected to be in uniform for LA but he isn’t expected to be out on the field too often. He may be used as a decoy, but he won’t be a threat.

Fantasy football managers definitely shouldn’t start McConkey because he probably won’t be on the field too often. It takes a weapon away from Justin Herbert and an offense that desperately needs a good game.

Offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel is feeling the heat after this offense has struggled and the Chargers haven’t found the win column yet.

The Chargers are averaging 16.8 points per game, which ranks 29th in the league. That’s clearly not good enough with the expectations they had and with a QB like Herbert.
