TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. (Next Stamina) — San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 34-year-old Isaac Matthew Angel on Friday in connection with the death of Jessica Nicole Phillips. Officials discovered Phillips deceased inside a garage in the 74900 block of Aladdin Drive after a vehicle check led investigators to the residence.
According to a news release from the department, the investigation began at approximately 8:03 a.m. on March 13, 2026, when deputies responded to a report of a Toyota Tacoma blocking a gate at a fire department in the 6500 block of Adobe Road. Findings from that vehicle check directed deputies to the Aladdin Drive property.
Upon arrival at the home, deputies located two unsupervised children inside the primary residence. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of Phillips, identified as the children’s mother, in the garage. The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail subsequently assumed control of the scene.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., deputies located the children’s father, Angel, walking near Sunrise Drive and Araby Avenue. According to the department, “detectives determined Angel was responsible for Phillips’ death” following their initial investigation.
Angel was arrested for murder and remains in custody without bail. Officials urge anyone with information to contact the Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904 or provide anonymous tips via We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
