The Los Angeles Rams came out of Monday night’s game fairly clean on the injury front, but this week of practice has not been kind to them. Kam Curl left Thursday’s practice early after injuring his ankle and on the same day, Trent McDuffie injured his groin.

Sean McVay told reporters Friday that McDuffie won’t practice and is uncertain to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. He’ll officially be listed as questionable.

McDuffie is the Rams’ top cornerback, and missing him against a pass-happy team like the Cardinals would be a big blow. If McDuffie is out, it could push Josh Wallace and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. into bigger roles opposite Jaylen Watson.

Through five weeks, McDuffie is on an All-Pro trajectory, allowing the lowest passer rating in coverage of any cornerback in the NFL (21.1). He’s been every bit the shutdown corner the Rams expected him to be when they made the blockbuster trade for him in March.

After acquiring him in that big trade, they gave him a four-year, $124 million contract, which made him the highest-paid cornerback at the time.
