India’s teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had a witty message for photographers eager to film him at the airport, reminding them not to compromise their safety while chasing social media content.
Sooryavanshi arrived in New Delhi alongside the Indian contingent for a felicitation ceremony with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Surrounded by paparazzi, the 15-year-old happily posed for photographs but also cautioned the photographers to remain aware of their surroundings.
His humorous remark, “Reel ke chakkar mein thuk jaoge” (You’ll get hurt chasing reels), quickly caught the internet’s attention and went viral on social media.

Gold-winning Indian cricket team meets PM Modi
During Thursday’s ceremony at New Delhi’s Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, PM Modi also interacted with members of India’s Asian Games 2026 contingent, including Sooryavanshi, to celebrate the country’s achievements at the continental sporting event.
Addressing the athletes, the Prime Minister encouraged them to visit schools and their hometowns to inspire young people through their experiences. He emphasised that even a brief interaction with a sportsperson could motivate a child to pursue athletics.
Modi further highlighted how sports instil discipline, resilience and perseverance, helping individuals overcome setbacks and remain committed to their goals.
He reiterated his message, “Jo Khelega, Woh Khilega” (the one who plays will flourish), underscoring the wider importance of sports in everyday life.
