One spot in the 2026 World Series is set after the Brewers dethroned the Dodgers with an NLCS sweep, but there’s still a ways to go on the AL side.
Back at home Thursday in Game 3, the Guardians took the series lead with a 3-2 win over the Rays behind another strong pitching outing from Gavin Williams and a massive homer by Petey Halpin.
That sets Friday’s Game 4 up as a turning point in the series, with a Cleveland win putting the Guardians on the brink of advancing and a Rays victory resetting the series at 2-2. The biggest question is whether it will be played as scheduled, with the weather forecast in Cleveland still looking questionable.

If the game is played Friday, Nick Martinez is expected to start for the Rays, while it’s looking like a potential bullpen game for the Guardians.
