Jaylen Brown went through a rollercoaster of emotions after the Boston Celtics traded him.
The five-time All-Star has already addressed the blockbuster trade between the Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers, but he went into more detail in a candid conversation with rapper Lil Baby.
“I feel like I went through a bunch of phases of my emotions,” Brown explained. “Like, first I was pissed off. I threw my phone across the room, like I was pissed, I was hot, you know what I mean? Then I kind of was detached from the situation, and then I kind of like, you know, I got excited after that. Then I got — then I came back to Boston. That’s when I started getting back to Boston when I was traveling. Then I got sad again. I was like, then I got sad, and now I’m just ready.

Boston was Brown’s home for the first 10 seasons of his NBA career. He joined the franchise as the No. 3 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and left as a five-time All-Star, one-time champion and one-time Finals MVP.
Brown has been very candid in the past about how much Boston means to him. He credits the city for shaping who he is today.
It doesn’t help that the past season was the most fun Brown has ever had. He stepped up in a big way with Jayson Tatum sidelined, leading the Celtics to 56 wins while posting career highs of 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.
Brown acknowledged in his conversation with Lil Baby that being traded is always a possibility, but he didn’t expect it after the season he had.
Brown will return to Boston for the first time since the trade on Jan. 21. There’s no question it will be an emotional night.
