Benjamin Satterley, the former pro-wrestling star who went by the ring name “PAC” in AEW, died of bronchial asthma, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled.
His death has officially been deemed a natural death, with no foul play suspected.
The New York Post was first to report the news Friday.
Satterley, who also performed under the ring name “Neville” in WWE, shockingly passed away on Sept. 27 at the age of 40, just one day after his final wrestling match at AEW All Out 2026. Satterley was discovered unconscious around 4 p.m. in a rental car outside of a restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, and ultimately pronounced dead on the scene.

According to a police incident report, Satterley’s phone was routing a Google Maps path to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport upon his discovery, and a woman who knew Satterley told authorities the wrestler was heading there after stopping at the restaurant for lunch.
Hailed as one of the most acclaimed high-flying workers of his generation, Satterley debuted as a professional wrestler in his native England in 2004, then joined WWE in 2012, becoming a two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, one-time NXT Champion and two-time NXT Tag Team Champion during his six years with the company.
After parting ways with the WWE, Satterley became one of AEW’s earliest major signings in 2019, where he remained for the next seven years. Satterley won several championships with AEW — he became the promotion’s inaugural All-Atlantic Champion in 2022 and twice captured its World Trios Championship — and had the distinction of being the first wrestler in AEW history to hold two championships simultaneously.
