The Chargers are only one of three teams ot start the 2026 season 0-5.
Los Angeles’ season start has been less than ideal, and there have been few signs of a turnaround.
Justin Herbert and the offense still haven’t found their groove (it’s unclear if they ever will). They are also dealing with a variety of injuries and questionable coaching from Jim Harbaugh and Mike McDaniel.
It’s been a nightmare season for Los Angeles, and because of that, former Pro Bowl lineman Richie Incognito called for a complete overhaul with the Chargers.

In an episode of his most recent podcast, Initial Contact, Incognito called for the jobs of Harbaugh, McDaniel and general manager Joe Hortiz.
“It is going to be a complete overhaul soon for these Los Angeles Chargers,”Incognito said. “Joe Hortiz, the GM’s got to go. Jim Harbaugh’s got to go. If he does not get rid of Mike McDaniel in the next couple weeks, it’s going to cost Jim Harbaugh his job.”
Incognito also put much of the blame on Herbert’s supporting cast, criticizing the team’s investment in the offensive line and questioning whether McDaniel was the right man for the job.
If the Chargers keep dropping games, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that at least one of Hortiz, Harbaugh or McDaniel is out before the end of this season.
The 2026 Chargers were supposed to take the next step and establish themselves as a juggernaut; instead, they’re set to receive a top pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
It would have been hard to imagine the Chargers being in this position just over a month ago. However, this is the reality they’re facing, and someone will likely be held accountable sooner or later.
