The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report of the week on Thurssday in advance of their Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Eagles listed seven players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Dontayvion Wicks, Jalyx Hunt, Michael Carter II, Will Shipley, and A.J. Epenesa.

Hurts will miss Sunday’s game due to a “superficial blood clot.” It’s quite possible he’ll miss more games as well. For now, backup quarterback Tanner McKee is set to make his third career start. Cole Payton is currently the only other healthy QB on the roster, though there’s talk about the team potentially bringing Andy Dalton back on the practice squad.

Barkley is tracking to miss his second straight game due a hamstring injury. With Barkley likely out, Tank Bigsby on injured reserve, and Shipley also expected to miss Sunday’s game … the Eagles are down to their fourth and fifth running back options: Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele. They also have Jaydon Blue and the newly signed Ian Wheeler on the practice squad.

Wicks was downgraded to DNP after previously being limited on Wednesday. Seems like he might not be able to play on Sunday, which isn’t ideal.

Hunt is expected to miss Sunday’s game after getting hurt in Week 5. On a related note, Epenesa was downgraded from limited to DNP. The Eagles might left with Jonathan Greenard, Nolan Smith, and Arnold Ebiketie at edge rusher. And it’s not yet a lock that Greenard plays.

Carter II is on track to miss Sunday’s game. Marcus Epps could take his place back in the lineup as the safety next to Andrew Mukuba in nickel packages.

The Eagles listed 10 players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: DeVonta Smith, Drew Kendall, Landon Dickerson, Tyler Steen, Marquise Brown, Jonathan Greenard, Grant Calcaterra, Eli Stowers, Jakorian Bennett, and E.J. Jenkins.

Wow, some rare good injury news for the Eagles?! Smith participated in practice for the first time since missing the Eagles’ last two games. That he was limited and not full raises the question if he’ll be ready to suit up on Sunday. But now it seems like there’s at least a chance of it happening. McKee could sure use Smitty out there.

Kendall also returned to practice for the first time since suffering a knee injury in Week 4. He might not be able to suit up this week but maybe next week is in play?

Dickerson, Steen, Brown, Greenard, Calcaterra, Stowers, Bennett, and Jenkins were all limited for the second day in a row.

I’m guessing Dickerson isn’t going to suit up until he gets a full practice in first. Ditto for Calcaterra, Stowers, and Bennett, who are all currently still on injured reserve anyway.

The Eagles seem to be managing Steen’s workload to help get him to Sunday.

Brown might be able to return after missing the Eagles’ last few games. The Eagles could use more receiver depth if Wicks can’t play.

The Eagles really need Greenard to get back on the field with Hunt and Epenesa on track to not play.

Jenkins might be able to play.

The Eagles listed seven players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Marcus Epps, Jalen Carter, Zack Baun, Andrew Mukuba, Jihaad Campbell, Arnold Ebiketie, and Fred Johnson.

Epps was upgraded from limited on Wednesday to full on Thursday. He’s ready to return after missing two games.

Carter, Baun, Mukuba, Campbell, Ebiketie, and Johnson were all full go for the second day in a row. They’ll be ready to suit up on Sunday.

CAROLINA PANTHERS INJURY REPORT (THURSDAY)

Only one change from the Panthers’ Wednesday injury report: rookie offensive tackle Monroe Freeling was upgraded from DNP to limited. Freeling is set to head to the bench anyway with Taylor Moton gearing up to return. But he might be available to suit up as a swing tackle.

The other four Panthers players who were limited in practice bear monitoring on Friday’s final injury report.

Former Eagles running back AJ Dillon did not practice again. Seems like he won’t be able to suit up on Sunday.
