The Steelers had nine players on their first injury report ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The most surprising name on the report is defensive tackle Keeanu Benton, who didn’t participate in practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, the team announced.
Other non-participants included defensive back Jalen Ramsey (wrist), wide receivers Roman Wilson (finger) and Ben Skowronek (calf), and defensive tackle Cam Heyward (rest).
Ramsey has played through his wrist injury in recent games, while Heyward normally takes a veteran rest day on Wednesday. Both Wilson and Skowronek are expected out of the Buccaneers game at minimum.

The Steelers’ limited players were running back Rico Dowdle (toe), safety DeShon Elliott (knee — injured reserve), cornerback Jamel Dean (ankle) and outside linebacker T.J. Watt (rest).
Dowdle, Elliott and Dean all missed the Steelers’ Week 5 matchup against the Colts, but have a chance to suit up against Tampa Bay. Elliott is in his return window from injured reserve, but has yet to be activated back to the 53-man roster.
At the time of this writing, the Buccaneers have yet to release their Wednesday report.
